Have you ever gotten screwed...Sending Flowers

Have you ever gotten screwed when sending FLOWERS?

I recently found out something very interesting that people should considering sending flowers through the following web-sites should be highly aware of!  (Teleflora, FTD, or 1-800-Flowers)

First lets do some math...............You pay $75.00 for a nice bouquet of fresh flowers from one of the above companies.......

1. They take your information, Name, Address, Phone, e-mail, address, and oh yeah MONEY!
2. Then they pass the order onto a REAL FLORIST........(Usually a small family owned business)
3. It's prints out on the florist printer (EX.....1 Dozen long stem roses-Red, in the Red Glass Mosaic Vase)
4. The print out states that the Order Value was $75.00...................................Value
5. DOES THE FLORIST GET THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NOPE, NOT A CHANCE
6. TELEFLORA, FTD, AND 1-800-FLOWERS TAKE A 27% PERCENT COMMISSION RIGHT OFF YOUR ORDER TOTAL. (THAT'S IF THEY DIDN'T SKIM MONEY OFF THE TOTAL WITHOUT THE FLORIST KNOWING)
7. THEN That cute little vase or ceremic container..........The florist had to buy from FTD, TELEFORA, or 1-800-Flowers for about $7.00 (Oh yeah, they esp Teleflora, Force the florist to buy a case of 24, 36, etc!)
8. So at this point the florist has LOST about 50% of the money that you paid
9. The florist then must put fresh (expensive) perishable flowers into your arrangement. (Roses, Fern, Baby's Breath,) Then usually a satin ribbon bow, a card, a pick, wire, tape, foam, etc
10. The designers---who are usually specially trained to create Artistic items, must crank out the products in a timely mannor
11. The delivery driver is then paid either by the hour or (esp on busy holidays--each pieace they deliver usually 7 or 8 dollars)
12. Gasoline for delivery

The florist is left with hardly any profit! ! ! !  To pay for their rent, equipment, and utilities! ! !

Don't even think about affording health insurance, dental, or a 401 K !

So everytime you buy through TELEFLORA, FTD, or 1-800-Flowers..........You are hurting the true workers bee's and the small florist that serve your community and putting in the hands of Stock Holders and Corporations!

These companies will be the demise of the "Brick and Morter" florist and when you really need them Weddings, Funeral's, Proms....................................They won't be around

Choose wisely, and build a realtionship with your local florist! ! !
